Series Editor of the New Century Edition of the Theological Works of Emanuel Swedenborg

Dr. Jonathan Rose appears on several Off The Left Eye programs. He is the series editor, and a translator, researcher, annotator, and fundraiser for The New Century Edition, an ongoing project that incorporates the latest scholarship in modern, accessible English translations of Emanuel Swedenborgโ€™s theological works. Holder of a B.A. and M.Div. in religion and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Latin, he has focused his career and research on Swedenborgโ€™s life and works. He developed an algorithm for analyzing Swedenborgโ€™s Latin and helped create Latin search software called NeoSearch. He was the curator of Swedenborgiana library and both a tenured professor of religion and sacred languages and chaplain at Bryn Athyn College before taking on his current position with the Swedenborg Foundation. He is the author of The Message of Love behind the Ten Commandments and Swedenborgโ€™s Garden of TheologyHe co-edited A Lexicon to the Latin Text of the Theological Writings of Emanuel Swedenborg (1688โ€“1772), which includes a rudimentary grammar of Swedenborgโ€™s Neo-Latin and joins a short list of Neo-Latin dictionaries in existence. He created and hosted the Spirit and Life Bible Study for eight years, producing over three hundred hour-long videos examining the Bible through a Swedenborgian lens. He is an avid musician and has released โ€œClear Shining after Rain,โ€ an album of eclectic gospel music.
